John Oliver starred in the prestigous Comedy Zone show at the 2001 Edinburgh Festival where he also appeared in two Perrier Award nominated shows. In 2002 John's debut solo show took the Edinburgh Festival by storm.

Never treading the path of least resistance. John's cerebral and uncompromising material confronts the most surprising subjects, from politics to penguins, in his own achingly original style that proves it is possible to be hilarious and thought provoking in equal measure.

John Oliver is a writer and correspondent for "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart." He joined the show in 2006 and at the time of this writing is yet to be fired. Since then he has done everything from interviewing UN Ambassadors to breaking his nose fighting for the Confederate army.

As a writer he has been nominated for both Emmys and Writers Guild Awards and he won the Breakout Award at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. He performs stand-up around the US and his Comedy Central Hour Special  "Terrifying Times" debuted in April 2008.
