Matt Rudge
Matt is an energetic and charming act, with surreal but often cutting material told with a friendly cheeky smile.
Born to a Glaswegian mother and a Brummie dad, Matt Rudge grew up confused in Somerset.
Matt has appeared numerous times on British TV, including presenting off the wall reports for The Wright Stuff on Channel 5, ITV's Record of the Year. Regularly as a Newspaper reviewer on BBC Breakfast, ITV News and BBC3 News. Matt was the Voice-Over Artist on channel 4's Kings of Comedy. Strangely, Matt has also died twice on BBC's hospital drama, Casualty.
Matt was nominated as Comedian of the Year in England's biggest comedy festival, the Leicester Comedy Festival. He also beat hundreds of entrants to make it as a finalist in two major new act competitions, The Laughing Horse New Act of the Year and the Newbury Comedy Festival New Act competition.
in 2007 Matt was chosen to compere the award winning comedy club Amused Moose's Edinburgh Festival show 'Hot Starlets', featuring the best up and coming stand ups from around the UK, having appeared himself the year before. He also starred in International Stand-Up, a show featuring some of the best new comedians from Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
Matt's pod casts for Gcap Media (XFM, Capital Radio) shot to the top of their charts with over 20,000 hits in a matter of days. Matt also works behind the scenes in TV as a Producer and Director. Various ideas and programmes he has developed and devised have made it to the small screen, including comedy panel shows, studio entertainment, factual entertainment programmes and narrated documentaries. In 2007 Matt devised the comedy panel show And Then You Die…, and appeared regularly as a panellist on it (UKTV)
Matt regularly performs as both a compere and comedian, and has appeared in comedy nights and clubs all over the country including The Comedy Store, Just the Tonic, SPANK!, The Underbelly, Amused Moose Soho, and Jesters.
