Amused Moose Comedy's NATIONAL NEW COMIC AWARD 2018:
Quarterfinal 8, hosted by IAN SMITH, with JACOB HAWLEY
In London's West End tonight
you can vote for nine exciting new comedians onstage in 'The Other Place', downstairs at The Albany. They have already won through from the qualifying rounds so you're in for some fun at the coolest comedy night in town, hosted by IAN SMITH.
"An atmosphere which is both intimate and unfailingly professional ... in the plush setting that deters the lairier elements of a night-out crowd": Chortle.co.uk
Awardwinning IAN SMITH hosts the comedy show
tonight and introduces special guest JACOB HAWLEY, Amused Moose Comedy Award semifinalist 2017, plus the contenders: Emmanuel Paul, Fiona Ridgewell, Josh Pugh, Louis Cammell, Mamoun Elegab, Rosie Holt, Ben Doust, Steve McCann and Tash Goldstone who having already won through from the online qualifying round, need your votes to get into the semifinals, and then on their way to the Edinburgh Fringe in August where finalists battle for fame, fortune and a shiny moose trophy (previously won by Jack Whitehall and Sarah Millican, with finalists including Josh Widdicombe, Romesh Ranganathan, Jimmy Carr and Greg Davies).
Amused Moose’s multi-awardwinning and TimeOut Recommended comedy nights
feature the very best stand-ups on the comedy circuit, television and festivals worldwide, as well as brilliant handpicked breaking talent.
Delight not only in tonight's mirthmakers
but also in quality food and drinks in this historic pub where you will be welcome long before showtime, and long afterwards too.
Comedy-goers socialise and mingle
before the show, during the interval and aftershow until late. To make the most of your night out, arrive early (maybe after shopping in Oxford Street) to enjoy a pre-show meal from the venue's interesting menu. There is an extensive winelist and a good range of beer, cider and spirits.
Showtime is 8.10pm until about 10.30pm; the comedy room with its own bar opens at 7.50pm.
Tickets: £7 to £14 (unsold tickets, £15 cash-on-the-door).
Venue: The Albany's comedy room (The Other Place)
240 Great Portland St, London W1W 5QU (Click here for the pub menu etc)
Tubes: Warren Street & Regents Park stations are 3-5 minutes away. Baker Street, Euston Square and Euston are within 5 to 10 minutes stroll. (Great Portland Street station is closed this weekend)
Seating: If you’d like to sit with friends who will arrive separately, someone should arrive when the comedy room opens and know the number in your group.
Seating cannot be absolutely guaranteed for late arrivals.
Birthday groups are very welcome, but no single-gender groups of 8 or more. (See Small Print below)
SMALL PRINT

2) Local bye-laws require venues to refuse admission to anyone who appears to have been pre-drinking, so come straight to the venue rather than elsewhere first.
3) Because of potential annoyance to others, Hen Nights, Stag Nights, and single gender groups of 6 or more will not be admitted.
4) Anyone causing a nuisance or disturbance will be required to leave.
The venue (not the comedy night) have responsibility for the above.
NB: No refund will be made in any of the above circumstances, because it is assumed that everyone is aware of, and accepts, these terms.
5) Occasionally performers may unexpectedly become unavailable, so do check if you are coming to see a particular comedian. Neither they nor Amused Moose Comedy accept any liability in respect of their non-appearance, but Amused Moose Comedy will do all possible to replace them with another comedian of similar or higher standing
